This spicy mango avocado salsa is one of my all-time favourite salsas, I like to serve it with tacos, as a side to teriyaki marinated tempeh with a lime yoghurt or just on its own. It doesn’t contain a lot of ingredients but it sure packs a lot of flavour.

In the summer months (if you get a summer, thanks UK weather!), if you’re throwing a party, this is a great addition to your BBQ spread. My favourite thing to do is to throw it on some halloumi burgers straight off the grill. As you can imagine, it tastes amazing!

  • 1 large ripe mango, diced
  • 1 large ripe avocado, diced
  • ½ fresh red chili, finely chopped
  • 4 scallions, finely chopped
  • handful of fresh coriander, chopped
  • 1 tbsp sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 lime, juiced


Chop your mango and avocado into dice-size pieces and place them in a bowl.

Add finely chopped scallions, fresh chili and coriander before giving the mixture a good toss.

In a small bowl, mix sweet chili sauce, lime juice and sesame oil.

Pour the dressing over the salsa and mix well before serving.
